Betty Bean at Shopper News wrote a wonderful article that highlights many of the things that Randy intends to pursue should he be elected as Knoxville’s next state senator.

“I’m not in it to lose because Knox County can’t afford it. Tennessee can’t afford it. We can’t afford to be preaching ridiculous extreme right-wing ideas while our children are falling behind. Tennessee is in the lower 10 percentile of public schools. That is an issue that has got to be focused on…”

She goes on:

“…For the past 21 years Walker, who earned a bachelor’s degree in logistics and transportation from UT, has been a program manager and business developer at ORNL. He has also worked as a business developer, college instructor, operations manager, program manager and business entrepreneur. He has facilitated southeast regional homeland security weigh station demonstrations and serves on the Anti-Terrorism Advisory Committee for the U.S. Attorney of Northern Illinois, the DOE Contractors Transportation Management Association Board and the American National Standards Institute working group…”

“…We’ve got to focus on the real issues, not silly wedge issues like seceding from the union. … We’ve got to focus on jobs, education and public safety. It’s not fun and games here. We’re in serious times…”
