As I reflect on the military women and men who have served and serve our country I cannot help but think of my Father. He was a citizen soldier who served in General George Patton’s 3rd Army during World War II. He was one of the lucky ones if you consider anyone who had to face the horrors of the Battle of the Bulge lucky.

My Father taught me to respect the American veteran and to always support a strong military because that it is what deters war. He also taught me the price of war and why it should be avoided whenever possible. In his own words “there is no glory in war only survival”.

Thank you men and women of the armed services I truly appreciate your sacrifices. It is because of you we remain free.
